I don't use facebook, but that message you posted refers to some link that should be shown, and I assume you have to click that link/copy&paste it to your browser (and perhaps follow further instructions) to log into the game. I really doubt that would have to do anything with the issue, the "login via facebook" function is used by plenty of apps and websites, if it really was shut down recently, there would be info to this found easily.
